TVO launches video player

TVOntario is rolling out a new online video player, first on tvokids.com, with an eye to turning out a grown-up version for tvo.org. The player uses the Brightcove platform for Internet TV, developed by the Massachusetts-based company, which has done similar work for the likes of A&E, CBS and Fox.
The new players are part of the educhannel's ongoing push into the digital world and, in the kiddie version, provides TV shows, music video and other content.
"This allows for direct access to a vast array of our kids' programming and web activities, learning activities that will keep young minds active and inspired all summer," said TVO CEO Lisa de Wilde in a release. The adult version is due for fall.
