About The Dalton Camp Award

In December 2002, FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting announced The Dalton Camp Award to honour the memory of the late Dalton Camp, a distinguished commentator on Canadian public affairs, who passed away earlier that year.

The Dalton Camp Award is available to up to two Canadians each year. Each award consists of a prize of $5,000, as well as a bronze cast medal by Canadian sculptress Dora de Pédèry-Hunt. The Award will go to the winner or winners of an essay competition on the link between democratic values and the quality of the media in Canada.

A seven minute video has been produced to communicate the story of the Dalton Camp Award - click here to view (QuickTime 36 MB).
