Tell Canadian Stories
The Tell Canadian Stories campaign was designed to raise public awareness of the stark shortage of Canadian drama being broadcast on prime time television. It was being launched just as a parliamentary committee released an 872-page report on how to fix the system, and in the lead-up to the 2004 federal election.
FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting sponsored the campaign. Several groups helped FRIENDS by contributing towards the cash cost: ACTRA, CEP, Nabet Local 700, the Directors Guild of Canada and the Writers Guild of Canada. Twenty-five companies contributed valuable services to the campaign: All Sorts Casting, Cineplex Odeon, Colour by Deluxe, Dolby, Eyes Post, Gamma Studios, Jewel Hallymeyer, Kodak Canada, Laird, Liberty, Notch, Pauline Couture & Associates, Prisma Sound/Syndicate, Rapidata, Setworks, Shiffarobe, Showline Studios, Soho Digital, Sparks Productions, The Canadian Connection, Third Floor Editing, Thunder Thighs, The Lab, Wardrobe Rentals, William F. White, and many actors and other members of the crew.
